| Sunday Classes for Children at St. Margaret's
CrossWalk
kindergarten through 5th grade
Our Sunday School program is called CrossWalk: Walking in the Light of the Cross. This program is based on the rotation model, similar to Vacation Bible School. On any given week, three of the following workshop stations are open:
- Holy Word Theater (drama/puppets/storytelling)
- Parish Life (cooking/science)
- Thou Art Studio (art/crafts)
- Cross Rock (music)
- The Upper Room (a mystery class)

We operate on a three-week unit cycle and teach the same Bible story for the whole unit. Children learn best through repetition. This program allows them to explore one specific Bible story several weeks in a row. We have a total of 10 units for the school year and we introduce new stories each fall.
The children rotate to a new workshop station each week and experience the Bible story through different learning and teaching styles. Because children are always rotating to a new station and meeting a different teacher each week, we have one Shepherd for each class. (Someone who stays with the same class each week to provide consistency and familiarity for the children.)
There are several Sundays throughout the year where we have a multi-age activity for children 3 years to 5th grade during the Sunday School hour. See our newsletter The Epistle for more information.
Witness
three and four year olds
As God's children, young and old, we are witnesses to God's action in the world. This program allows children to not only hear the story, but through activities to apply it.
