Stephen Ministry
Sometimes life is hard...
...and it's good to know someone is there when you, a relative, or a friend need someone caring and supportive.
Stephen Ministry is a nationwide program named after Stephen, the first of the deacons in the early church, commissioned by the apostles to provide care and comfort in the
Christian community. Today, lay ministers who are called and gifted receive intensive training to offer one-on-one confidential caregiving to individuals in the midst of transition
or crisis.
Stephen Ministry is helpful for anyone who:
- Needs someone to talk to.
- Struggles with their faith in God.
- Is discouraged, anxious or lonely.
- Is coping with divorce.
- Is grieving the loss of a loved one.
- Is ill or hospitalized.
- Is dying.
- Is experiencing the loss of a job.
- Is having financial difficulties.
- Is new to our congregational community.
- Is going through a life transition.
