Visiting St. Margaret's for Worship
We look forward to welcoming you in person for a visit to St. Margaret's. Visiting an unfamiliar church can be intimidating, but it doesn't have to be that way.
To help you find St. Margaret's see our map and directions page.
St. Margaret's offers a variety of worship services each weekend. Musical styles range from traditional to contemporary. We also have a service without music. For a descriptive schedule of our services, see Worship at St. Margaret's.
Children are welcome at all St. Margaret's services. We offer other worship opportunities as well. At the 8:45 AM and 11:10 AM services on Sundays, childcare is available for children under 36 months. "Joyful Noise Children's Worship" for children ages 3 through 2nd grade is available at the same services. Children in Joyful Noise rejoin their families midway through the service at the Peace. You can find out more about children at Saint Margaret's here.
Our hope is that you will feel free to participate in the service as much as you are comfortable. If you are unfamiliar with worship in the Episcopal Church, just relax and let those around you lead the way.
All of the Sunday worship services at St. Margaret's are celebrations of the Holy Eucharist and are described in the service leaflet you will receive when you visit. The first part of the service includes readings from Scripture and a sermon. In the second part, we offer our thanks to God as we celebrate Holy Communion, sharing the bread and wine. We believe in the real presence of Christ in Holy Communion. All baptized Christiansof any age, including childrenare welcome to share with us in this sacred meal.
Our custom is to receive bread in the hand and to drink wine from a common cup. As you come forward, if you wish to receive the bread, please extend your hands. If you wish to receive the wine please assist the chalice bearer by guiding the chalice to your lips. If you wish to "intinct" or dip the bread please do so yourself. If you are not baptized, you are invited to receive a blessing from the priest. Please come forward and cross your arms over your chest. Ushers are available during the service to answer your questions.
As a visitor, you are invited to note your visit by signing our guest book. Your name won't be added to any mailing lists. It simply makes it possible for us to send a note thanking you for your visit.
If you have any questions, please contact the church office at (425) 746-6650 or by email, office@saintmargarets.org.
